Self Care & Shopping Small

THE LIVE WELL NOTES

THANKSGIVING WEEK | ISSUE 5

Hi Friend!

How's the weekend been treating you so far? We've come to the end of the week and maybe you're recovering, maybe you're still celebrating, maybe you're trying to figure out how you're going to through all the leftover dessert before it goes bad (current situation at my house πŸ˜†). However this email finds you, I hope that you're taking care of yourself and will continue to as we enter the next phase of the holiday season.

This evening, I thought I'd give you some easy self care suggestions. I know we don't always have hours and dollars for fancy pedicures, facials, massages, or even bubble baths, but there are simple, quick ways to make sure we're not running ourselves ragged.

I hope these suggestions are helpful!

SELF CARE

(Y'all know that I've been committed to offering free content and not just shoving shopping links in your face. This list will include links to self care products that you might check out but please remember, you don't need to buy anything special to do something nice for yourself! PLUS I have a brand new freebie at the end of the list!

  1. Write a ta-da list for today or this week (these are all the things you got done!)
  2. Go ahead and eat the leftover dessert. It's the holiday season, worry about the calories tomorrow
  3. Doodle or color in a fun coloring book (I have a whole list of my favorite coloring supplies 😊)
  4. Take a nap
  5. Clean out your purse (or that junk draw you've been avoiding)
  6. Stretch your body
  7. Turn on your favorite tunes and dance in your kitchen. Or sing into your hairbrush in your bedroom (or sing and dance wherever you want!
  8. Watch a Christmas movie or a rerun of your favorite sitcom
  9. Spend the afternoon away from your phone
  10. Take a long hot shower (bonus points for turning on your favorite music and singing while scrubbing your stress away! I like adding one of those aromatherapy steamers in mine)
  11. Write a list of 20 things you're grateful for. I'll bet you can't stop at 20.
  12. Light a candle + pick up where you left off in your book
  13. Drink a glass of water. Seriously, sometimes we're just simply dehydrated
  14. Do a little at home facial. Wash your face, maybe do a little steam treatment, put on a facial mask or those under eye thingys that help with dark circles, do some gua sha (I've got a list of some of my favorite facial products here).
  15. Take a walk around your neighborhood and pray for your neighbors
  16. Do a brain dump. For this one, I have a new freebie in my resource page that might help you get all those messy thoughts out of your brain. It's called Get Your Brain On Paper and I'm telling you all about it first! Get it free below!

SHOP SMALL

I know it's the end of the day and I just linked a bunch of Amazon stuff but there's still time to shop small 😊 Here are some of my favorites:

  • Dwell Apparel - They have really cute Christian apparel! I've got my eye on the "O Come Let Us Adore Hime" sweatshirt πŸ‘€ Use code ELYSSANALANI for 15% off your order!
  • Love in Faith - Another great Christian apparel brand. Their Christmas collection has some super cute pieces!
  • Coconu - I mentioned them a few emails ago. They're still offering 30% off storewide. Their products are on Amazon but the discount is only 20% off.
  • The Daily Grace Co. - today's free gift is one they've never done before - a full Bible Study called FRESH START. Remember, code ELYSSAT10 for 10% off your order!
  • Cultivate What Matters - they have beautiful Brain Dump Journals! And I always recommend their Wellness Action Card Deck for great self care ideas! And today their free gift has been a gorgeous pen set 😁 And don't forget code ELYSSNALANI for 10% off your order!

I pray you have a lovely rest of your evening! Remember, make time to take care of yourself! Don't stress over things you can't control. Have some fun, get some sleep, stay hydrated, and stay grateful - we serve a good, good God!

Grace & Peace,

THE LIVE WELL NOTES CYBER MONDAY EDITION Hi Friend! I couldn't have planned this any better. Last week, as I was planning out these emails, I thought Monday would be a great day to talk about soup because I had a hunch I'd need to make some to use up leftover Thanksgiving turkey. First of all, yes, I was right and I'm headed to my kitchen after I publish this email. Second of all, the temperature has dropped and it is finally appropriately cold. Hello December πŸ˜†. Perfect soup weather! I don't...
